The highways in this area range from busy, well developed highways to winding roads. Be prepared for a wide variety of weather and winter driving can be very challenging on some of the more remote corners of this region in BC.
Flying To Vancouver, BC
You can easily fly into the Vancouver and Coast Mountains region by accessing Vancouver International Airport (YVR). This is one of Canada’s hub airports and has direct flights from most places in North America.

You can easily travel between Vancouver and Whistler by bus with several bus companies running transfers each day. Rider Express runs a daily scheduled bus service from Vancouver towards Calgary, passing through and stopping in Hope.

When Is The Best Time To Visit Vancouver & The West Coast?
The Vancouver and West Coast region of BC has two main seasons: summer for… well, everything fun and winter for skiers. Vancouver and the West Coast are blessed with mild weather patterns, with influence from the Pacific Ocean. This brings an early spring and a late fall, with a very long summer.
You can expect to be clear of the rain season and into reliable summer weather from the end of April to late October.
Winter really kicks off in late December until the end of March at sea level.
